Sealight is located in the private estate of Elmer Sands in the coastal village of Elmer next to Middleton-on-Sea. It is a great base to explore West Sussex and all its treasures. It is just a few miles from historic Arundel and only half an hour from Chichester and Goodwood. The beautiful and famous South Downs National Park with its amazing views and walks is just a short distance inland.
The village of Elmer has a medieval church, a couple of pubs, a one-stop grocery shop and a pharmacy, and Middleton-on-Sea next door has a Butcher, News agents, an award-winning Fish & Chip shop, and a number of lovely pubs and restaurants are within easy reach.
Chichester & Goodwood:
The pretty market town of Chichester with its historic cathedral and Festival theatre is only half an hour away and has a lot of great shops and a beautiful natural harbour. Goodwood House which hosts the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood, is a little over 10 miles away, also offering two impressive championship golf courses.
Coastal Trail:
The coastal trail and Elmer Sands beach are right outside Sealight’s garden gate. To the West, the trail goes to Bognor and beyond which at most tides can be walked on the beach. To the East the coastal path goes all the way to Littlehampton and follows a rare stretch of undeveloped coast, a shingle beach with sand at low tide, backed by fields.
Arundel is another lovely market town with its famous 11th century castle, a Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and fabulous walks along the banks of the River Arun.
Elmer is well placed to visit the South Downs National Park as it is just a short visit away. There are so many walks and places to visit within the South Downs. Covering an area of over 1,600 km2, the South Downs National Park is recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
